Father Mahoney has spent over 50 years in serving at Corpus Christi. During much of that time, he had a variety of diocesan jobs in addition to his ministry here. His greatest pride was in being born near Wrigley Field in Chicago. He attended Lewis University in Lockport Illinois, where he received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology and philosophy. He attended St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore. He was the first person to receive a Ph.D. in Church Leadership from Fordham University. He has spoken in over 50 dioceses on topics on church leadership, religious education, and trends in the Church. He was a contributor, author, and consultant to a number of publications in religious education. His greatest joy during these years was serving as a pastor at Corpus Christi. His primary influence was Professor Charles Brown who was in charge of the Peanuts comic strip.
