Advance funeral planning relieves your loved ones of the burden of making your funeral arrangements at a time of grief. It will give your family comfort and peace of mind knowing that your funeral will be celebrated according to your wishes and desires as a faithful Catholic. We strongly encourage you to speak to your family about your funeral plans.
Please contact the parish office at (973) 635-0070 to set up an appointment with Paul Carroll, Fr. Michael or Fr. Kevin. They will be glad to help you understand the funeral rites of the Church and make decisions about services, readings, music, and more so that your funeral will reflect your life of faith and assist your family, friends, and parish community in their time of grief. Our parish staff will guide you in creating a plan, keep the finalized plan on file alongside the parish sacramental records, and provide you with copies to share with family members and those who will implement your funeral plan in a time of need.
Advanced planning for the funeral liturgies can be especially important if you are the only Catholic in your family, or if those who will carry out your wishes are not Catholic or no longer actively live their Catholic faith. Make sure that a close relative or friend knows your wishes and has received a copy of your funeral arrangements.
