The Orchestra of St. Peter By The Sea will be coming to Corpus Christi on December 3rd at 7PM! Now beginning its thirty-eighth year of music making, the full symphony orchestra will present an exciting Christmas Concert, complete with guest vocalists.
The Reverend Alphonse Stephenson, the orchestra’s music director and conductor, is a Catholic priest who founded the 45 member ensemble in 1986 after conducting nearly 3,000 performances of the smash hit, A CHORUS LINE at Broadway’s Shubert Theater. “The Orchestra is made up of all professional, card carrying, union musicians,” said Father Alphonse during a recent interview. “No other season of the year is so closely associated with music. To perform the familiar carols and Christmas standards with rich and colorful orchestrations make our concerts particularly joyful.”
Traveling throughout the Metropolitan Area, the Orchestra’s twelve concert season will feature soprano Victoria Cannizzo, tenor Peter Lake, and baritone Kenneth Overton. Father Alphonse concluded, “Our audiences quickly come to realize that all the performers they see before them are gifted musicians who love their occupation, and who genuinely like and respect one another; that element is then caught by the audience and amplified into joyous music making.” Tickets are available below!
